I have a model 53-2 I bought in 1980.It came with a 22 lr cylinder along with the jet cylinder. The 22 lr cylinder is not numbered.I have looked on the underside of the extractor star and there is no number. Were these always numbered? The 22 lr cylinder measures the correct 1.67 length.I have read here they were numbered so just curious.

Just a guess, but by the time they were making -2's, they may not have been numbering the cylinders.

I have a 8 3/8" M53 numbered in the last 80 made. Under the extractor, the Jet cyl. is numbered on the face, to the gun in real small numbers. I also have a first year, very early M53 4 screw, and the Jet cyl. is not numbered. I have heard both of both numbered and un numbered 22 LR cyls. for the Jet. Big Larry
