What's the safety protocol when pulling a misfired 22 out of an insert of a model 53?
Probably no different from any misfire in a chamber, but being a newbie, I wanted to find out what the deal is with this.
Obviously, the last thing I want is for a 22 to go off in my hand while I'm pulling the round out of the insert with my thumbnail.
I doubt if this has happened much, but being a newbie, I wanted to ask here.
I've pulled several misfired 22s out of the inserts either while they are in the cylinder or out of the insert while it is out of the cylinder.
What should I be doing??
The 53 will misfire quite often as expected, when firing 22s.
I haven't shot a rem jet neck down magnum yet.
Thanks
