Model 57 Grips

Would a Model 57 (no dash) that was manufactured in 1975-1976 have come standard with Goncalo alves smooth target grips or checkerd target grips?

I have two 6"-barrel guns. One is in a presentation case and the other is in its original box. Both have checkered target stocks. I also have this one.

That is a great piece of wood for those stocks. Great revolver too.

Unless special ordered, the checkered target stocks were standard for the Model 57. Smooth target stocks were usually purchased in the S&W card stock backed blister pack at gun shows or gun shops.
