Gents,

So I’m ready to do something I’ve always wanted, have a S&W Model 58 altered to shoot .45LC.

So before I contact Bowen Arms, is there anyone else I should consider who can do the job and do it well?

Also, anyone who has had this or a similar job done, does it hold up well. This will not be a safe queen, it will be used regularly. Any insight will be appreciated (other than don’t do it).

Thanks

He would be my choice, he did a 28 into 38-40 for me a long time ago. Trimmed her down to 5 inches, she was sweet.
Don't be like me and let someone talk into selling it unless you hate it. I wish I never had sold it.

I have a well used 58, a 58 bbl rebored to 44mag specs, and a mod 29 cylinder that drops right in. I have always wanted a fixed sight 44 mag, but I do like the 41 mag cartridge. So my only problem is deciding whether to pull the trigger on this one.

I strongly recommend either Bowen or Andy Horvath from Ohio(I forget the town). I have conversions from both these guys and the work is superb. There are two other "names" you see in gun mags who do good work for gun writers and slipshod work for nobodys.

Pay for the best and you'll not be sorry.
