Model 59 with adjustable sight?

Can any of you tell me about a 59 with an adjustable rear sight? The sight was a Bomar and was long like a revolver rear sight. Is this factory?

The factory fully adjustable sight looked like this -

Yes it looked like that one. Was it just a bolt on? I didn't think the slide was cut for such a long sight.

Had a Model 59 with the adjustable sight or had an adjustable sight? The latter weren't all that uncommon, but depending on your definition of "special" , maybe so. About 4 years ago a member here on the forum when provided one for me when I upgraded the Model 39-2 I had inherited from my Dad. I'm not sure they were ever available factory installed (perhaps as a special order option?)

I have to admit to being fairly new to this subset of S&W and finding out new stuff about the 1st-3rd Generation autos from just about every thread that shows up here. Perhaps someone will come along and tell us the code to look for on the end label of a box that came with an adjustable sighted 39 or 59.

They wren't standard as I recall, but I owned a 39 and a 59 that I put the S&W adjustable sight on. Two minute job, direct replacement of the fixed sight.

I thought that all M59s were adjustable like this.
My goto fishing gun except when in the kayaks.

Had a 59 with the adjustable sight. No box though, so can't tell if factory or not. Was a fine example not mistreated and no holster wear. Wanted ~$400 for it.
