I have heard the M60 Pro is cut for moon clips. Is that true?

I don't think the Model 60 Pro was, it dosen't show that. The 640 Pro was. But they are both discontinued.

The model 60 Pro is not factory cut for moon clips. I had mine cut by TK Custom to match a model 640 Pro that is cut by S&W. Same clip now fits either revolver.

I just picked-up the new 640-1 PC in black and its cut for moon clips. I was wondering what some of you thought the advantage is of using moon clips. Mine seem rather flimsy. And not all brass seems to fit on these. Nor do I find these to be much faster to reload than a speed loader. And the flimsiness of this set-up would prevent me from carry this as a reload.

I guess easier extraction would be one benefit if wanting to dump all 5 cases (this may be my only use case). And I did find some .38 Super ammo will load on these clips, but I doubt I'll ever shoot .38 Super out of this gun.

I'm not against moon clips, as I did just pick-up the new 940-3. But these clips are thicker, and moon clips just seem to work better with shorter cases.

So, what am I missing with a moon clip option in the .357 mag gun?

I don’t think you are missing anything. Moon clips are for rimless ammo. If you want quick reloads with 357 Mag, use Speed loaders or Speed strips, moon clips are a terrible option. But folks who insist on 9mm are stuck with them if they want to carry a reload. A J-frame is a five shot belly gun. If I’m carrying it, I probably won’t want a big azz bulge in my pocket. If I want to reload at the range, I’ll just load one round at a time.
