Model 610 5" Bbl.

Did S&W ever make a 610 with a 5" Bbl.
- pre-lock preferred. Any choice of full
versus ejector shroud only style?

I like the 5" Bbl. length on my 625 and the
610 appeals just not the Bbl. Len. offered.

That sounds about right.
They didn't sell very well and a lot of them went to CDNN at very good prices.

The 610 5" was made from '89 to '92 as part of a 4500 gun run that ended in '92, very few were 5" most were 6.5 inch models. I was told by a S&W rep that the 5" models were made as demo guns for police departments with a few going out to retail. The individual said probably only a few hundred made, most likely in the two or three hundred range. The person suggested I have Roy do a letter on the gun to find out possibly for sure.

My guess is it was about like the Lew Horton special done in '99, which was a 300 gun run. I would say it's probably easier to find a Lew Horton 3" then a 5" no dash. I have never seen one for sale other then mine, seen a bunch of LH 3" on the auction sights.

Mine shoots like a dream and no I would not part with it for anything S&W makes these days.
