I just aquired a model 63 the other day I picked it over the model 34 because the 34 was so loose on lockup hope I made the right chose. I really like blued guns but this one just spoke to me. It came with aset of horn grips with sw logo inset, pretty but I think I would prefer the wood originals or even wood something. Anybody with a 63 original or a customed to you revolver. I think my kids will really enjoy shooting this one. I have only fondled it a little and shot at a tree 6 times. If yall have any pictures post them I would love to see what you have. Doeboy

Did I mention...WE LOVE PICTURES!
I have a 63 and it is my "stick it in my pocket on the dog stroll" gun.:D Love mine and I am sure you will love yours too over time. Best little all round kit gun ever made.

You will love the little Kit Gun. Here is mine in the left-handed carved holster from Lobo.

Here's mine.

The grips you see came on the pistol. The other set is a spare set.

I have given up on posting pictures. My old camera would take pictures I could post but my olympus 10 megapixel will not. go figure. I have a ton of pictures but can't get them to work. They lookgood on my computer though. If anyone has any suggestions on how to post them I'm willing to try but no luck yet even have a photobucket acct. I've gone to the "how to post pictures " but doesn't work. Doeboy

Lower the quality on your camera, I had the same problem with my camers set on SHQ-Super High Quality, and they were too "large" even though they worked on my hosting site (hunt101) they appeared as a red "X" on forums like this.

Okay, I'll give it a whirl......

Here's a few pics of my Model 63-No Dash:

Picked this one up three years ago from an estate sale, box, papers, etc.; I believe it was unfired. I've put about 4000 rounds through it since then; about 1500 Stingers, the rest Federal Bulk-Packs. It's more accurate than I'll ever be.....:D

The stocks are factory original; they are a bit small for my hand, but I couldn't bear to put some Goodyears on it, it's so pretty as it is...Might have to get a Tyler T-Grip for it....

For range sessions, I mostly use my 6-shot, 4" 617, but for walking the woods and plinking targets of opportunity, the weight of my 63 is hard to beat. Always wanted one, and finally found one. You and the kids will love yours, no doubt. Teach 'em right at a young age, and they have found an enjoyable sport (and essential skill) for life...Hat's Off to ya, Dad!

There are several photo processing programs available, some of them as free-ware. Google for "Irfanview", a free download that is pretty easy to use. Resizing images is not difficult with the program installed on your computer. For data transfer a 640 X 480 resolution usually works very well, and will result in files from about 45K to 70K or so, much smaller than many jpg-type files from digital photos.

649guy-if you don't want to use goodyears but want a fuller grip-try to find a set of J frame targets like the ones I have on mine.

Model 63s are sweet guns. Not as easy to shoot as a K frame but they are handy to carry around. Here's mine.

That's a nice set of stocks on yours, cajunlawyer! Are they factory or aftermarket? I may have a set of target stocks tucked away somewhere, but most probably they would be K-frames, as that is what I've collected for 20 years or so. So, when I look for a J-frame set, what would you suggest? Factory originals, or aftermarket?

I've been toying with the notion to get a Tyler "T"-grip for mine (NICE 63, Deanodog!)....would just give it that 50's Era "cool", as well as providing a better purchase.

Well, they are factory grips that I bought and put on the gun. It opriginally came with the magnas just like yours. They came in a Smith & Wesson package so I guess it is factory. Put a WTB in the classifieds and I'll bet someone comes up with a pair to sell you. I while back I missed out on a nice pair of smooth targets so I know they are out there.

649Guy If your looking for target grips try ebay. Do a search of " j frame grips" I just looked and there's a boatload. Try this # 110625882867 nice set.

THANKS I'LL GIVE IT A TRY. DOEBOY

Here's another M63 w/ a set of Target grips. Targets fit my hands much better than the stock magnas.
