I would like to polish out the scratches on the right side of the frame on this police trade-in. The scratches appear to be seat belt induced and aren't deep.
Would Flitz and elbow grease do the job?

Thanks,
revarc

If the scratches are super fine, then yes Flitz will work but be prepared to do the rest of the gun also if you can't blend in your repair. Not a big deal, it shouldn't take too long.

If the scratches are beyond being removed with Flitz, then a Gray colored Scotchbrite pad can be used. Again, you should be prepared to continue on with the rest of the gun to match and again, not a big deal. Always go with the grain of the metal.

If you are competent & capable of taking the gun fully apart, I would say do that first. Flitz and Scotchbrite dust usually gets inside somehow and at the same time, you can assure the guts are clean, properly lubricated and nothing is missing. Especially on a police trade-in that you have no idea how it was/wasn't cared for.
