What's a used Model 64 snubbie in nice shape worth? Non-pinned barrel. Local shop has several but they want $425.

I bought a Model 64 no dash with pinned barrel in mint shape for $450 a year ago.

Bought a used one, polished up nice though...for $450 off GunsAmerica a couple months ago

Snubbie 64

These are 2" barrel used guns - but in nice shape. I'd use it for concealed carry. They've got one that locks up tight, no endshake at all, times perfect, etc.

Might as well be new except for some finish wear and maybe some wear on the stocks.

I'm tending toward heading back and picking it up. I don't see too many 2" 64s and I doubt they will get any cheaper.

I'd say go for it, if it's something you'd want. I love my M64-2. It feels much better in the hand, has a better trigger, and one more round than my M60's.....still carries fine in a jacket pocket, and of course on the belt, too.

My LGS is a Brinks Armorer and found a half dozen M64-8 bobbed hammer snubbies in the back stock room new in the box from 2007. Brinks had gone to automatic pistols and these were over-runs from the last order of revolvers. They put them out on the shelf for $400 and I bought one. The remaining three are now marked $629.

Of course this gun is a hat trick for the haters here - IL, MIM and a two-piece barrel!

Saw a LNIB one, with box, docs and tools at Pasadena, TX gunshow two weeks ago @ $475.00. Saw it on Sat, went back on Sun and you guessed it...it was adios.

Model 64 snubnose

I went back today - only two of the four left. Got the best of the last two for $399.

Seems like decent Smith K frames are in high demand, particularly snubbies.

I paid 450.00 for my 64-2 complete with box and factory grips in great shape. I love it, shoots like a house of fire with Golddot 135gr short barrel.

It may depend where you live but S&W snub nose revolvers are very popular in States where getting a concealed carry permit is easy. This is especially true in states wtih a lot of hot weather because people are in shorts and tee shirts a lot and the snub nose is fairly easy to conceal.

I saw a 2" 64-2 in 'not so hot' shape at a gun show this past weekend in northern Virginia for $365. It had 'CCDC' stamped on the area below the cylinder and Pachmyer gripper grips, but no box or papers. In retrospect, I probably should have bought it, as I don't have this variant in my collection. But would have taken a some work with the Scotchbrite pad to get it presentable. I don't see 2" model 64s that often or any stainless 38 special revolvers for responable prices for that matter.

The California Dept of Corrections sold a big lot of them about three years ago. Wish I had bought a half dozen or so. :)

I paid $250 for mine and it came with a neat Bianchi 5BHL holster which I'll probably never use, plus two HKS speedloaders. It helps when you buy it from a family member.

Last fall my BIL picked up a Brinks trade in for $285 off of GB, it had the usual holster wear but it was mechanically sound...

I keep looking for a 2" Model 64 and one just never pops up. I guess I am stuck with my 2" Model 10. Maybe soon..............

Model 64

Good get. Pictures please???

Well actually I put it on layaway. It always takes the feds an hour or so to clear me and I didn't have the time.

I'll pick it up in few days and post a photo. And it is one of the CDC guns, by the way.
