Model 64 Snubnose

Wow, this thread surpassed my expectations! What a great bunch of nifty revolvers, amigos - thanks so much for sharing!

(Shoot, now I'm getting a hankering . . . darn it! :D )

I lucked into a 65 3" RB a few weeks ago. Paid more than what my old brain thought it was worth (I think I'm stuck in the 80s, lol) but less than the SCSW5th says it is worth.

A while back I purchased a no dash 64 with the two inch barrel. It was a display model with a clear plastic side plate , no grips and no signs of it ever being fired . The finish appears to be highly polished. The stainless side plate was included so I jettisoned the clear plastic piece and got a nice set of S&W grips for it . Was wondering if anyone else has seen a gun like I described?
Which is the S. N.?
Congrats nice snubby and nice grips

Welcome to the Forum Max. I have never heard of a display model but that's a nice model 64.
The SS sideplate that you installed fits perfectly. I'd bet that the assembly number stamped on its inside matches the grip frame assembly number.
Throw the clear plastic in the trash 😀
Nooooooo...... that plastic side plate is worth at least $25!

I too have a 64 no dash.....in the original box....you don't see these very often.

I got mine at the pawn shop, bnib unfired under $400. It's wearing a set of Altamont combat grips. I've got quite a few other Smith wheel guns from the 80s. When Montgomery Wards went out of business, I bought their entire firearms inventory, about 80 guns total. Still have em all.
