I simply paint the full serrated face on my front sights (including the 640.) White model paint first, to serve as an undercoat, then a bright orange nail polish I keep for the purpose. There might be a tiny bit of smooth black sight face remaining at the top of the front sight blade, but I've not found sight alignment to be precise enough on these short barrels for it to make a difference.
I also paint the rear sight notch (back face and notch sides and bottom) with flat black model paint. This is also a big help with sight alignment in any kind of bright light.
