I finally found an affordable 650 this week.
It was a long time finding this little gem.
There are a few out there but most are over the 1K mark.
Post yours up, I would like to see em.

Great looking gun. I always wanted one but it's hard to find a purpose for it that couldn't be met with something cheaper, lighter or smaller. Still, if I saw one in that condition for a good price I'd figure out a way to bring it home.

ATTENTION MODERATORS: I would like to reply to this thread with photos, but the ability to "Go Advanced" is not working. All I see when selecting REPLY is a dark gray field that will not accept the cursor. Please try to correct this glitch, thank you!

SPECIAL THANKS to Lee Jarrett(handejector) for teaching me how to overcome my lack of computer savvy in this matter!

Here's mine

I also ordered mine when they were first announced. I had my dealer send it back to S&W for the auxiliary LR cylinder before ever taking possession of it. It served as my tackle box kit gun until 2003and will be the last revolver I part with. The versatility it offers just can't be beat!

When I ordered my 650 651 I wasn't aware that you could order them with 22LR cylinders.

When I ordered my Mod 48 I did!

Back then, my dealer had an S&W flyer announcing the introduction of both the 650 & 651 and mentioned the availability of the auxiliary cylinder. He ordered it that way, but the mother ship sent it without stating the supply of LR cylinders was temporarily low. The part# for it was exactly the same as that of the Mod 63 and they needed to maintain a supply for repairs. I also had them install the "Sem-Target" hammer which was standard on the 63 & 651 since I do alot of single action plinking and such. They returned the standard service hammer which I keep in the OB with the paperwork, extra grips etc.

Here's my 650 and 651 I bought new in 82.

I put CS laser stocks and applied talon inserts on the 650 because I shoot it more than the 651. I want to save the wood.

Enjoy yours!

Could you describe the talon inserts or provide a link? Thanks for posting!

I purchased a sheet of talon (https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...0.Xtalon+sheet.TRS0&_nkw=talon+sheet&_sacat=0

and layed out, cut and trimmed the panels myself. It is very easy to work with. I did each stock separately. Cut a piece of talon that's close to the periphery of the panel you want to cover. Apply, press around the outline, then carefully trim the excess with a razor knife.
You could also make a paper template first for more difficult contours. The Talon can be massaged (stretched a little) and kneaded to merge two butted pieces and make it look like one piece. It really does stay stuck too.
