So after getting all the parts I needed to do the conversion, I found out, as other members mentioned, that I was probably going to need to modify the yoke tube or find another yoke and modify it to fit.

The existing one that was fitted for the .22 mag cylinder was too long and would not work with the .22 LR cylinder. I did not want to modify it. It was proving difficult to find another yoke so I decided to halt the project.

Sent all the parts back and have decided to just use my Pre Model 17 for plinking with .22 LR.

It was a learning experience and I appreciate all the input from everyone but this just wasn't meant to be.

I would have just had the new .22 LR cyl ctr bore lengthened a couple of thousandths to fit the yoke tube with an end mill cutter turned by hand.

How far off was the .22 LR cyl? Couldn't have been much.

Or look for another yoke to use with it; much easier to change in the field anyway.

I agree Jim..I was looking for a new/used yoke to modify but it was turning into more of a money pit and project then I anticipated. I'm happy with just using my K22 for .22 lr and the 651 for .22 Mag.
