Anyone have recommendations for a holster for a Model 66-2 6" barrel? I bought a Bianchi Cyclone and while it looks great the the pistol sits perfectly in it, for the life of me, I can not get the snap to close around the hammer. Thanks.

If your gun has a target hammer, no Bianchi holster will fit it correctly. I use a Lobo Gun Leather Tom Threepersons holster for my Model 66 and 686 with a 4" barrel. The safety strap will accommodate any hammer style where a thumb break will not.
Mine has the optional smooth leather lining and cost $82. They come in various colors, too.

That sure doesn't looks like a Threepersons to me.
El Paso Saddlery owns the pattern of the original that was made by S.D. Myres.

Go to Lobo Gun Leather's website and you'll see it there - in fact, the same holster in the same color but with a different S&W in it.

I have the exact same gun and holster. Had the gun for 30 plus years and got the holster just last month. It took a little doing, I guess because the leather was stiff, but after working back and forth awhile, it snaps just great. Also, there is no play of the pistol in the holster at all. Rock solid.

If the Bianchi doesn't work out for you, give Diamond D Leather a look. I just ordered a Alaskan Hunter for my 6" 686. I have one of their Chest Holsters for my 2-1/2" 66 that is awesome.

This is a Bianci 5BHL that I cut down to fit my 4" 66-2. I wanted a minimim length holster for wearing on a horse.
It was originally used for my 6" Model 19-3. It fits both perfectly (or nearly so).
PS They BOTH have target hammers.
