I just use a pill bottle, it holds two of them perfectly.

That holder looks like an interesting idea.

Matt has a patten on these pocket moon clip holders & am going to have to check them out..
I thought there might be some interest here on this forum..
@ PCT Park Cities Tactical, The Cult of the P7, Matt has a section there that has threads about Leather Gear, called Del fatti's Hide Room.. Matt's Leather gear is in such High Demand that He has a very long wait time for holster builds & when He has some extras or over runs He posts them on that page I Linked to above..

I tried to make something similar myself years ago from an older type of Film canister but they just didn't work as they were a bit too small..

I'm not sure of the material but looks to be some type of Kydex.
A Very Intersting Idea!!

I presume the intention here is to prevent damage to the clipped cartridges and prevent the clip itself from being bent. I think this would be much more useful for moonclipped .38 Special with the necessarily thin moonclips. An interchangeable post of different lengths would ne nice.

Thanks Gary!

In addition to the 9MM version, I also have some in stock for the .38/.357 full moon conversions on J-Frames and SP 101s (as done by Marc Morganti at Gemini Custom)

i just put one full clip inside the other full clip and put it in my pocket. I have never had any problems with carrying them that way. They fit in the watch pocket of my dungarees and dont flop around at all.

No convenient or comfortable way of carrying the moon clips, along with the weight being too much for pocket carry, is why I no longer own a 940. If the moon clip gets bent and you try to use it in an emergency, you're screwed. I much prefer the 342 and speedstrips.

I think that Matt Del Fatti has come up with something here that fills a need for some & I intend to look into a few when the finacial advisers grace me with thier presence again..

Are pocket carriers for N frame .45acp moonclips available from Del Fatti?

Does anyone make a belt carrier, designed like those made for speedloaders, for N frame .45acp moonclips?

I've seen belt carriers for 45acp moons @ Brownells, never seen a pocket carrier for one YET..
I'd email Matt Del Fatti & ask him..
He replied in the post earlier or go threw his website..
Here's the link to the two that Brownells sells for 6 7 & 8 shooters

I personally throw one in my pocket and dont worry about it.

+1 I have carried loaded clips for the 940 in my pockets with no problem whatsoever. I suppose it is possible to bend one, but I've never had any difficulties.

Hey Lobo:
I suppose I could build the pocket carriers for the .45ACP Moon Clips but it'd be a pretty big lump in your pocket. I also make belt carried moon clip carriers for .45ACP, .40S&W, 10MM, .38/.357 (5, 7 & 8 round).

When I tried that; the clip got bent (multiple times), dug into my leg, wore out the pocket, and printed on the outside (tho nobody really knew what it was).

I "gutted" a model 36 HKS spedloader and used that to hold/protect my moonie.

Finally went to an airweight J, the all steel gun was too obviously sagging in my pocket, and uncomfortable.

I did exactly what Jim did. Used a couple of old HKS J frame speedloaders and took out the metal parts. The clipped rounds slid into them nicely and usually remained in my pocket when I pulled on the clip, It also works for 38s for the J frame that has beem modified for moon clips. I would like a dedicated holder, but haven't seen any-will look at the Delfatti.
When wearing a belt holster (which is most of the time) I use a small 38 special speedloader case which holds 2 moon clips one over the other very nicely.
The same works for the larger moon clips (45ACP and 6 shot 9mm) use a speedloader case, and it fits 2 moon clips stacked vertically. With a double case you are carrying 24 rounds in the space that used to carry 12 rounds in speedloaders.
