They are excellent guns, maybe better than excellent, but a very hard gun to find. Watch the ads in GunList & the internet sites. The Model A in any caliber is not seen for sale very often, and .300WM caliber is even harder to find. Several stock styles were offered, but don't be choosey if you see one for sale. I have about 20 of the letter models in my collection, but don't have a .300WM Model A. Expect to pay big, maybe 4 figures for a NIB example, if the seller knows what he has.

thats not what i wanted to hear i have two husqvarnas in 6.5x55 and thay are very good guns ill keep looking

I had one in .30-06 and sold it awhile ago-a superb rifle. I just came back from a moose hunt in Sweden and used a left-handed Carl Gustav in 9.3x62. The A was the same gun as the Carl Gustav (Husqvarna before that). Wish I could find another lefty here in the states.

The Model As were fantastic Rifles, the one I had is on the top of the list of those that I wish I never got rid of. If you can find one buy it and never let it go. My Huskie was a real fine rifle, a 7 mag, and was a great shooter. It seems that I'm now on a quest to replace the guns I was so stupid to get rid of.

It is always heart warming to hear others speak so highly and passionately of the S&W Husqvarna Model 1900 rifles. I bought my first S&W Model A in 1971 and still have it today. And it still shoots great. I have picked up several other S&W Husqvarnas over the years as well as some of the HVA and Carl Gustaf models.

Regarding the 300 Win Mag - I have a couple of these rifles. One of them is my "go to" rifle. It has a well worn stock and a few dings in the blue, but it is a fantastic shooter. We live and hunt in very open country and I want a rifle that will carry and retain energy at long distances, and the 300 Win Mag does that very well. If I do my job with shot placement, the Model A 300 Mag always delivers.

And, if anyone wants to do some trading, or if you are looking to part with your S&W's (Model A or Model B), please get in touch. Email is [email protected]. (I am not a dealer, just a passionate Husky 1900 collector).

God Bless America!

I just found a 30-06 last week new in the box.
I've owned several S&W Huskys for 25 years and never found a NIB like this one.

What are they worth in today's market?

Hi Scopefred

Could you post pic's of the rifle, especially the rear of the action, and provide the first three digits of the serial number. There were several different models of Husqvarna rifles that were imported into the US by S&W. I think that I can give you a hand with more info.

Dear SD;
Sorry no pictures. My youngest borrowed my new digital that I got for X-Mas a couple of mounths ago. Haven't seen it since.
The rifle is marked on the laft side of the front ring: Made in Sweden Model C
Serial 6 digit below that.
Caliber is 30-06. Bolt is in small cardboard box
and has never been in the gun.
I took the rifle out of a 6 mil plastic sleeve bag and wiped it down with RIG on a lambs wool bonnet. All paperwork including warrenty card is in the box.
Box is slightly faded but in perfect condition.
Thanks in advance for the help.
