I picked an all original model of 1902 2nd model, I
Am disassembling it for cleaning and to slick up the internals due to heavy pull and to make it smoother. I have the gun completely disassembled down to the trigger, cylinder stop, etc parts remain. How do I remove them since the rebound spring is different then any Smith ive had open and doesn't want to come loose , also the internals were gunked up and had old oil or grease or something in there now just brown sticky mess but it's getting there. Now if I just had done different k frame RB grips vs those hard plastic skinny thin guys..

It is slotted into the grip frame and pinned through a tang. Drive out the pin to release the spring.

Kinda what I figured thank ya much sir.
But I have a bigger problem, I notice cylinder wouldn't spin when I opened it, could have been all the gunk but the gas ring is out of round when cylinder turns it gets tight in half cylinders. Since it's part of the cylinder I assume I need a used one. Arghhh!!!!

While I haven't taken the spring out of my 1902 Target, I use needle nose vice-grip pliers with hose over the tips to accurately compress the spring (one tip on the spring, other tip on the frame) so that I may remove the rest of the parts for cleaning/smithing. I find the vice-grip allows me total control over the spring and I can compress it just the amount required to get the other parts out.

Gunparts.com shows that they have your trigger spring in stock.
Trigger Spring (1903 Model) | Gun Parts Corp.

I do not know if they will ship this part to France or not. I guess you would have to call them to find out. I do know that they are not currently taking any orders over the phone, only on-line.

Maybe someone else can be of additional assistance. Good luck. And a Merry Christmas to you too!

Normally called simply called a trigger spring in these early models, and were the same for the Model 1899, Model 1902, and very early Model 1905 revolvers up to around 1907. Parts for these early guns are not always easy to find and, if the gunparts site does not work out, I would post a WTB on here on the Forum.

Note: I just looked at the part on gunpartscorp.com and it is the wrong part, not found on the Model 1902, but rather on early I frame revolvers.

Hello friends,
Thank you for your answers.
I left an ad on the forum to make a call to buy this spring.
I will inform you as soon as I have news.
Thank you again to all of you and happy holidays.
Joel

I actually just looked on the gunpartscorp site and the part number listed is for a .32 caliber.
Mine is a .38 caliber.
I really appreciate your help.
thank you so much

Yep, when I was looking on gunparts..., I had either a brain f#rt or a senior moment, take your pick. But in my defense there is only one digit difference between 1902 and 1903. Duh... Sorry about that.

Hope you find your spring.

Hello dear friends,
I always use an automatic translator ...
I had the chance to meet a member of the forum who will recognize himself and whom I thank from the bottom of my heart for everything he has done for me.
The spring on my S&W model 1902 was broken.
So I found a spring from a New model N ° 3 because I had read here that it was adaptable to my revolver.
Could someone give me the method?
Or a link that could guide me ...
In any case, I thank all those who agreed to participate to help me.
I am very grateful to the Forum
Cordially
Joel
