Model of 1917 end shake

Hi.
I saw a 1917 Brazilian in a LGS and I liked it , nice action but it has more end shake than I'd like.
My question is: is the end shake adjustable with shims on the prewar models like it is on the later guns. Or, is it preferable to go the yoke stretcher way.
I have no experience with prewar guns and I'd like to know before I made an offer.

you can use the shims, I have a 1917 that I fix that way.

Remember though, that when you fix end shake, you will open up the barrel cylinder gap.
