I've searched around but haven't come up with the production numbers to verify the numbers of the Classic and Classic DX, so if any of you have these numbers, please post them. The 4th and 5th edition of the standard catalog it does not show any numbers that I have seen, and I tried a couple different searches on here and never came up with anything, maybe one of you guys have had some letters done and could possibly have some insight into this.

the 629 classic is still in production, 629-6. But i am upset that they have put the shield logo on the other side of the frame and made is 50% smaller.. its not what it should be..

but i havent found a replacement sideplate with the logo on it yet..

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough, I am not asking about anything with locks, the Classics that I am referring to are original pre lock guns, my particular Model 629-3 with a 5 inch barrel. Model 29-4 with a 5 inch barrel. I'm one of those guys that Smith and Wesson's quit being manufactured in the year 2000 and for the last 25 years I haven't paid any attention to what they're doing with their guns, I have a little hope now with this current announcement that maybe Smith and Wesson is back on the right track.
