I saw that on the TV news last night. Moe's hit in The Godfather is my favorite scene in the movie.

But I have several favorite scenes. While not in Godfather II, Moe does figure into the plot line in the pivotal discussion between Michael Corleone and Hyman Roth.

If you REALLY want to see Alex Rocco, you gotta check out his work as bank robber Jimmy Scalise ("Jimmy Scal") in the 1974 crime flick "The Friends of Eddie Coyle."

This film also starred Robert Mitchum, Peter Boyle, Richard Jordan, and introduced the wonderful Steven Keats, who plays a gun dealer very convincingly. Worth a watch if you like crime flicks, especially for Rocco's work and Jordan's insincere tag line, "Have a nice day."

Appreciate the heads-up, even if it is a sad one.

Moe Greene: Buy me out?
Michael Corleone: The hotel, the casino. The Corleone Family wants to buy you out.
Moe Greene: The Corleone Family wants to buy me out? No, I buy you out, you don't buy me out.
Michael: Your casino loses money, maybe we can do better.
Moe Greene: You think I'm skimmin off the top, Mike?
Michael: You're unlucky.

As it turns out, Moe Greene was indeed unlucky. A great movie, great character and actor.

I don't think the portrayal of the bullet going through Moe's right eyeglass lens was very accurate. And there was no spray of blood and brains from the exit wound.
