I started my day off with my usual 4 mile walk/ spiritual time. On my 1st lap I noticed a funny looking bright blue car. 2nd lap I noticed: FORD emblem/ rampant pony; no front grille-hmm all electric (they sell more electric cars in Florida than the whole other country-it don't get real cold). On 3rd and final lap I realized I was looking at a brand new Mustang that went from fastback "Boss" to something resembling a Pontiac Aztek from 20 years ago. I guess the engineers were "progressive thinkers." If I live another 20 years maybe they can design a flatulence powered 1960 Rambler American. Joe

Having owned and driven 3 fast Mustangs..........What they did is sacrilage...........A golf cart with a pony emblem.......Fastest I ever drove one of mine was 132 mph........Bet that cart can't maintain 70 for 40 miles with heat or ac running.

I saw a meme on Facebook saying we should bring back art deco! Lol

Last year at the race track I work at (Whiskey Hill Raceway) we had a car event: Mustangs on the Mountain. I was giving ride alongs on track and one of the local Ford dealers had brought a MachE along. He was bragging about how "fast" it was bla bla bla. I finally snapped at him that I could give him a 10 second lead and in one lap I would still pass him in my stock 1981 Mustang with 150k miles. He shut right up..

I can't believe Ford desecrated a long line of great sports coupes by naming that new electron-powered thing a Mustang. They should have dug "Pinto" out of some old dusty drawer for it, if they wanted a horse name.

Bingo! You nailed it! Pinto.... You got a belly laugh from me and a bit of coffee dribbling. You made my day. :D

BTW, there's a Shelby in my garage and it's "not really" a Mustang either. I'd say it has the bones and spirit of one, though. Unlike an e-Pinto.

I lost interest years ago when Dodge made a four door Charger.

Hear you loud and clear. I was heavily involved with the cars of the 60s early 70s. I did both real drag strip racing, street racing, working at my buddies speed shop garage and just general gear head stuff.

I can only remember one 4 door car racing. It was a low budget beat to hell old Ford taxi with a extremely well built 427 under the hood. Fellow did not have much money so he wasted nothing on the car itself all his money went into the drive train.

Most any other performance vechicle out on the street was a two door. For a personal ride I personally do not like, but own 4 door's, yes they are functional.

Seeing 4 door cars considered as high performance rubs me the wrong way. One of my biggest beefs was the later Impala SS. I well remember the SS of the 60s and they were 2 door!
