I bought a S&W M&P 15 back in July and figured it was my last one. Two weeks ago I ran across a sale and picked up a Aero receiver set and buffer tube anodized in ODG. I had black Magpul furniture sitting on a shelf and I had an end plate. A really good friend gave me most of a LPK, minus a castle nut and take down pins, which I found locally at two different shops. I assembled the lower after dinner last night…halfway there.

I need to figure out what caliber I want, what barrel configuration, and who might end up with it when I am gone. .223/5.56x45 makes the most sense though I keep thinking 6.5 Grendel. I have a 300 Blackout and a 7.62x39 already.

Think about 6.8 SPC. I have a couple of them and it’s a great little cartridge. Much more useful than the 5.56 for hunting, defense and most other purposes.

Just started a 7.62x39 in a BCA side charger build. I have a mini30 too. All my other ARs are .45acp or .22.

I have researched the 6.8 spc ll; the 6.5 Grendel seems to outperform the 6.8 beyond 400 yards.

A Ruger Mini 30 was my son’s first deer rifle. He still has it, but doesn’t use it much. He sat it aside for his kids.

I could highly reccomend an Odin Works stainless barrel chambered in .223 Wylde. I put one on my 2019 build and it is a tack driver.
