I was flipping channels and just happened to see the movie Easy Rider was just starting. I have seen it quite a few times but another time wouldn't hurt since nothing else was worth watching on TV.
The ending was Fonda on his chopper riding to get help for his friend that was blown off his bike by a shotgun blast. The rednecks that killed his friend had also turned around to kill Fonda. Now here is the not only no but heck no scene. As Fonda came towards them he was also shot by the same shotgun. That must have been one powerful shotgun because it blew the front end intact completely off Fonda's chopper. That shotgun had to be the most powerful shotgun ever made.

What a sucky ending. The bad guys won. That movie had a lot to do with the chopper craze during the early 70's. Mine was a "57" panhead with an 6" extended chromed Harley springer.

That scene is an interesting way to see someone's psychological point of view, if asked their response to the killing on these two. Some would say the ending was sad that they were killed, while others might bemoan all of that money burning up.

WELL...

#1 That was Dennis Hopper that got shot first.
#2 If you are a long haired hippie in the deep south in the 60's (let alone today) be careful who you flip off. ;)
#3 The shotgun blast ripping the bike AND rider apart, IT'S HOLYWOOD.

The LONG barreled double 8 gauge (EDIT) Viggo Mortenson carried in Appaloosa (???) gets my vote.

I can't remember which movie it was but Walter Brennan's side by side in one of John Wayne's movies. That thing knocked guys backwards, through walls, etc.

I'd have to give the award to Bluebonnet's shotgun in Open Range, where he shot through a wall and blew a guy across an alley.

been snubbed for an Oscar so many times he should be called J frame. :(

How right you are! Eastern Promises, Captain Fantastic, Green Book!

Three nominations, no wins. He should have also been nominated for The Road and A History Of Violence. His time will come!

He filmed part of Hidalgo on the Blackfeet rez when I worked there. I didn't meet him, but a bunch of cops went out to meet him and he was very nice to them and signed a bunch of Lord of the Rings DVDs.

My favorite is whatever the deputy used to blow Nicole Eggert's villain character through the window in, Blown Away. The other deputy had a S&W M-28 and she had either Beretta or Taurus 9mm's. Don't recall the shotgun that well.

I have the DVD at my desk. I'll watch again soon. The movie was from 1992, well before Nicole gained so much weight, so I don't mind seeing the film again. :D

Look carefully at the gun used by the heroine's dad. I think it was a Browning Hi-Power.
