Most "representative" S&W revolver?

Ah, havin' a little fun...While I still can. Y'all jest keep them cards and letters. ~smiley~

Oh, go ahead and send them cards and letters, folks. I have heard it said that Dave can have kind of a thick hide if the situation call for it. :D

Much as I like the target models, including the ".357," I still say the .38 M&P is the representative Smith & Wesson.

Of course, to some, The Bodyguard is THEEEE S&W Revolver!

My vote goes to the N-Frame, either 27 or 29. Everybody saw the Mdl 10 carried by the real police, but never gave it a second thought. The 27 and 29 on the other hand were made famous by the DH series of movies. They were/are the pinnacl of S&W craftmanship. They are beautiful and functional. They are "manly" guns. They shoot "manly" Magnum calibers that were the height of hangun calibers in their day.
If I was picking the picture to put on the cover of a book on S&W's, I'd have to go with a 27 in 4" with wood stocks. It would grab the attention of the schooled and unschooled.

A 4 inch M&P or model 10 is what comes immediately to mind when someone refers to a genaric Smith & Wesson revolver.

Another vote for the 4-inch Military & Police (Model 10) with the taper barrel. What is the dash number up to now?

My vote or opinion would be either the Model 19 or 66 with a four inch barrel.

The .44 was never a gun that appealed to everyone while not being able to be shot by many but the .357 was a gun that everone wanted, anyone could shoot and the lines of it are instantly recognizable.
