625-7 45 colt Dilemma and Question

Montana Bullet works order arrived today.

.454” 250 grain WFN GC.
Beautiful bullets as usual.

I quickly loaded 10 rounds of an accuracy load I use.

Unique 9.0 grains.

Two 5 round strings were fired from the bench at 15 yards.

Both groups measured max. 2.5” per 5 rounds with 3
each into 1 3/4”.

I’m sure with getting back into practice this spring and a
load development I can cut 1/2”-1” off those groups.

I’m happy.

Thanks for the help!

If you can ,shoot your groups at 25 yards. There can be a dramatic difference in group size at 25 yards. I do a lot of bench testing of handguns at 25 yards and a good group in my book(and what I strive for) is 6 shots in 2 inches or less. I hunt with mine and I want that performance as most deer shots for me are 25 to 50 yards. That gun of yours with the right load will likely do that. Sounds like you are on the right track

Glad it seems to be working out. I cast my own or buy from casters I trust and have had some revolvers that required specific sizes. I have a dozen and a half ACP revolvers, I have standardized on the .454 bullet. I prefer a full wadcutter but, like horse races, there are many options!
