Hey guys newbie here Bought a M&P10 Little over a year ago and now Im thinking of getting a bipod. Not sure what bipod to get and how to mount it to the stock Handguard on my M&P. Any help would be of great help.

Thanks

I don't know it it's possible with a stock hand guard like what came with mine. The holes are too big. Magpul and some of the other aftermarket brands will allow you to mount a rail or a swivel post to the guard which will allow you to mound the bipod.

Keep in mind, the hand guard that comes with many ARs is not free floating, so a bipod will still apply pressure to the barrel when the rifle is resting on the bipod. This is assuming you are looking for enhanced accuracy with the use of a bipod.

Harris makes a #5 stud mount adapter for ARs that will work on the stock round 10 hand guard. I just bedded in the plate with acraglas. I use the Harris S-25 swivel bipod.

Have only shot it with the bipod a couple of times, so am still determining how much, if any POI change there will be. But shooting off a bedroll doesn't seem to matter much, and the same setup on a 5.56 carbine seems to maintain a very usable POI consistently out to 300.

I suspect that my position and trigger control with the bipod--which, frankly, I am still getting used to--are the principal variables in my case. Both rifles will outshoot me, if it comes to that...

Get a stud mount that goes inside the hand guard and sticks out the bottom . Here is a pic of one before install and after on the M&P-10  Less than ten bucks at a gun show. :D
