If you're awake at 10:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, tune in to TCM for My Man Godfrey from 1936.

It's screwball comedy at its finest, and it even has a moral. Carole Lombard shows her true comic genius, and Eugene Pallette is hilarious as the harried father (he would later play Friar Tuck in 1939's Robin Hood, and Friar Felipe in 1940's The Mark of Zorro with Tyrone Power).

William Powell is flawlessly sardonic and sarcastic as Godfrey, the "forgotten man".

If you like good clean fun that puts today's film comedies and television's sitcoms to shame (my opinion), then this is one you want to watch.

You can't go wrong with William Powell. I rewatched The Thin Man again the other night. Its a "pre-code" delight - Myrna Loy is hot, they are both either drinking or hung over the whole time, and Asta the dog is the smartest one of them all.

Myrna Loy was dangerously beautiful. Sophisticated and comedic at the same time, she could do it all. Just look at those eyes.

Where are the actresses like her now?
