I just bought a DVD from yahoo named Flash Point made in 1984 It was very well done had Treat Williams and Kris Kristofferson as two border patrol agents in Texas that find a jeep in a ditch covered with dirt, it had 1963 license plates and a case with 800000 in new 1962 and 63 twenties and a Carcano 6.5 rifle and their lives were changed, and not for the better. A great movie if you can find it and well worth watching. Jeff

I thought this movie was well put together and very believable. I had a 6.5 Carcano equipped with a 4x scope purchased from Herter's in 1961 I believe. Cost was $19.95.

Great movie. I have it on DVD myself. Enjoy. One of the things that always bugged me, though, was Kristofferson playing a uniformed Border Patrol Officer with a full beard. I can't cite the grooming standard regulations from the Border Patrol, but beards with uniforms were strictly "no-go" everywhere I worked. (It's still a great movie)

Flashpoint has been one of my favorites since it first came out. It didn't do all that great at the box office, though. I've never believed Oswald acted alone, by the way.

Tess Harper, one of the girls in the film, later showed up in Tender Mercies with Robert Duvall and then as the wife of Tommy Lee Jones in No Country for Old Men.

I always liked Kristofferson's line near the beginning about the size of certain jackrabbits he had seen out in the desert. He also made good use of an N frame S&W.
