First of all I am a forum member because I own a S&W M&P 15-22 but I have no experience with the S&W revolvers yet. I own a Taurus 605 .357 (snub nose) bought it new about 6 months ago but now I'm taking advantage of the lifetime warranty and sending it in to be repaired (cylinder lock pin is ceased so now it wont lock shut) and when I get it back I will be selling it and buying a S&W like I should have done in the first place as I have read many great reviews.
Which model of S&W .357 would you guys recommend? It will be one of two concealed carry guns (other is a compact Glock .45) I don't know if I want to go snub again maybe a 4" and something $900 or less brand new. Also, what kind of warranty does S&W have?

The S&W equivalent to the Taurus 605 would be the .357 Model 60. I have one, a Lady Smith, and can recommend it most highly.

Of course, I also have a factory-ported 605 that I got a few years ago for $229.95, and I'd recommend it, too. Never the slightest problem. The porting is effective, even though I don't really care for it otherwise.

Looking around on the net I found the 686+ which holds 7 rounds so I might go that route

Now here's a question if I decided to go 44 instead of 357 whats the price difference in ammo?

I have a 66-5 with a 4" barrel and stainless paid 395.00 for it very nice gun, just bought a 60 pro series 357 Mag and its a lot smaller and better for a house gun I paid 658.00 Both are great shooters the 60 hits pretty hard with 357 ammo but I kinda like that.

I had a Taurus 605 - not a bad gun. Sold it to make room for others. My choice would be a SW model 60. This is mine - an excellent gun.
