Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums, bear with me if I'm doing something terribly foolish.

I'm going to drive a hour to the local gun store (middle of nowhere Wyoming) to pick up an MP 15-22. Before I do so, I wanted to ask some questions about the flash hider that comes on the, I believe, tactical model.

The flash hider looks very similar to the standard birdcage flash hider that comes on most AR15s, my question is if the MP 15-22 flash hider will accept a quick detach suppressor designed for the standard birdcage.

If so, that's great, but if not, how hard would it be to mount a standard flash hider on the gun so I could throw a QD suppressor on?

Not sure if the standard flash hider will accept the QD suppressor. It was my understanding that the QD suppressors always require a special flash hider that they can screw into. The one on the 15-22 is just a standard A2 birdcage.

Replacing the flash suppressor is just like a standard AR. Any flash suppressor that is a 1/2-28 thread will fit on.

as long as the qd adapter can accept .625 of thread deapth your good

Well, here's the deal. I don't have the funds (nor am I old enough) to buy a real KAC NT4 for a MP15-22. I found a replica that will suit my purpose, but I didn't know if the MP15-22 flash hider was a standard A2.

That is pretty cool. Do you have a link for the replica suppressor? I know that all of the fake can makers keep one end open on their fake suppressors, because I guess even a completely closed off fake suppressor would need a tax stamp.
