Does anyone know how many MP10-5 38 Special 6 shot, 4"bbl revolvers were made between 1974 and 1975. What would be the value of this weapon. Some light holster wear and some tiny rust spots but in overall good condition

A fairly large pile but don't think any references will break out those years.

I have one from 1974/'75 myself.

The 10-5 and similar standard (tapered) barrel guns don't get the respect they deserve. S&W made a load of them over the years. They are all steel guns with a 6 shot capacity and the 4" barrel guns weigh in at around 30 ounces. What is available today with those specs?

Today the .38 Special must have a snub barrel, be +P capable, yet weigh no more than a mosquito leg and be able to fit underneath a capped jaw tooth while holding 7-8 shots. Ever smaller, ever lighter! That's what this generation of shooters desires in handguns.
