Anyone got any tips on adjusting the sights on my MP15 SPORT II? How do you adjust the elevation on the sights? Do you need a special tool to adjust? Mine is shooting about 1-2 inches low at 75 yards. Also shooting about 1-2 inches to the right.

Elevation is adjusted by the front sight. If you are low, turn the front sight clockwise. No tool needed... use the tip of a FMJ round to depress the detent and turn the sight.

For windage, adjust with the rear sight. Just turn the knob on the side of the sight.

I would also suggest that you zero in at 50 yards. This will put you +/- 2 inches out to 200 yards.

1 other quick question--what should I use to keep it lubed, says it doesn't like being "dry". Would RemOil be OK to use?

That's going to open a can of worms, as everyone has their own preference. I use CLP, but I wouldn't hesitate to use Rem Oil if that is what I had on hand. Others use anything from Mobil One to exotic stuff like Frog Lube.

As long as you lube the rifle in the right spots, you'll be fine.

Rem oil viscosity is about like water and stays in place about as well too. I use Rem oil only for wiping down the outside of guns after cleaning.

There are lots of good lubricants. Among the ones I use is Wilson Combat "Universal" and "Oil".

If you're not using slip2000 EWG or EWL, you might as well just chuck the rifle in the trash can right now!

I saw a you tube video where Reid Henrichs recommended wheel bearing grease. I picked up a can for like $5 and I think it will last a lifetime.

Just remember on adjusting iron sights the front is opposite in moving your POI, to adjust the rear is the same. So if you're low, you need to raise your POI so lower your front sight post (clockwise). If you are right you need to move your rear sight to the left which moves your POI left. It's a little confusing at first but you'll get it.

Regarding lube. I've used Mobil1 motor oil with great success.

I tried about everything out there in the lube department and there are only 3 that I will stick with Mobile 1 synthetic 40 w, #2 lithium grease (red) High pressure, Slip2000 30 & CLP.

Others that I think are not bad, MPro7 & Hoppes, but as of late I have just stuck with the #2 lithium grease, I have done cold weather test on it in my AR's and AK. Works great and clean up is a breeze.
