MP15 Sport or Ruger Mini-14

first - i'd get what my heart tells me to get, then no regrets. this is of first importance.
second - with reloads my sport has shot 5 shot groups from a bench that are .668MOA. its the best so far.
third- much more after market accessories with an ar platform.
the sport is just that a sport it is just fun to shoot.

Interesting post. I was looking for something inexpensive, but could shoot 7.62 x 39. I wanted something that would be good for both zombies and deer. Someone recommended the mini14/30.

I wanted an AR but could not find anything sub 1500 that would take a larger round. Anyone familiar with the 14/30?

check out Olympia Arms they make larger AR's

Yes this is an old post (resurrection time), but many people look into these old posts for advice when they buy their rifles.

My Answer to the OP's Question is YES! Seriously, I own both a Ruger Mini-14 Ranch and S&W M&P15OR. I love shooting both of them. I think both of them are quality weapons for their price.

AR-15's are a standard platform, easily modified and adapted. Tremendous range of parts and accessories.

The Mini is based on an old reliable system as well. The only thing that I am modifying on the Ruger will be the gas block. When using 556 rounds it tends to knick the brass and flatten the back of the bullet a bit, telling me it's over-gassed. An adjustable gas block should do the trick.

Basically, the choice is what you want and what fits you personally. If it feels good, get it.
