I just pulled apart an MP40 and let it soak for a while. I didn't pay attention when it was taken apart. Now I'm not sure if I'm missing something because the recoil spring and guide rod come apart like a 1911 and are VERY hard to get back into place. Could this guide rod/spring assembly have come apart?
