...located in scenic College Station, Tx. This weekend was their Spring open house. For those who haven't visited, the museum specializes in armor restorations; if it's on display in the main building, it runs. Though most of the current collection is World War II era they also have a couple of pieces from the First World War and Viet Nam.

So once a year they roll the entire collection out for a show battle at the back of the property. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but...in my defense I was running the artillery this go-around.

we took several of our grandkids & one of their friends to a Civil War battle re-enactment in Lexington, Mo several years ago... these military shows & re-enactments bring history to life in these kids' minds. Kids of all ages enjoy the heck out of them too.

Very, very neat. Thanks for posting the photos.

Gave me a flashback to the mid-80s when I was stationed in Germany and went to St. Dizier (French) Air Base for a three-week temporary duty assignment. The folks there took me to a WWII tank graveyard where Shermans were lined up for blocks and blocks. We crawled all over a few of the better ones. Haunting and most memorable.

I'm sure the museum and reenactments are very well received. May we always preserve those artifacts and memories.

Two videos that have been posted so far.

Some of those "reenactments" are as good as a cheap movie.

We have one of those, too. Mostly shot once the crowds were gone and spliced in with show-battle footage. Back in the bad old days when we still did airborne.

Some aspects don't make much tactical sense, but at least it looked cool.
