I went to the Metroplex this past weekend, and while there I went to the Ft. Worth gun show at Will Rogers. This isn't the "Original" Ft. Worth show, this is the slightly smaller Lone Star show, "only" 800 tables. This was the first time I'd been to the Lone Star show at Ft Worth. It was pretty nice, you don't miss the additional tables, and the aisles are a little wider. Yes, the great S&W revolvers we love aren't commonly seen in like new shape, the way they once were,(sniff) but there are plenty of fine firearms and supplies to be had. Now that ammo is getting common in stores again, the shows are still a little high on it. Lots of nice new high quality auto pistols, for reasonable prices. I went on Sunday, and I haven't been to a show on Sunday in a while. A dealer had a stack of Shield 9mms for $300 +tax, wish I had bought one. I found the magazine for my early CZ, that I was looking for, and very fairly priced. I picked up a box of 9mm and .45acp Colt brand ammo. It was cheap and who knows, it may get as collectible as the S&W ammo. I also picked up a used 4X Leupold pistol scope for my Buckmark. I love free jerky samples. Silliest thing I saw was some Norinco SKSs at one table for $950 each. Really? I can think of a lot of guns I'd buy for almost a grand, before I'd buy an SKS for that. I had a good time, and then we went to the Stockyards, and had lunch at Cooper's BBQ. Beef rib and free pintos, yum!

It sounds like you had a good trip. I haven't ate at that Cooper's but if it's as good as the original Cooper's in Llano it has to be great.

I wish they would still sell gun powder for reloading. Unfortunately they stopped that a few years ago.

It was my first experience at Cooper's. I love the way you can look in the pit and pick out what you want. The pork chops were big as bricks! I liked my beef rib, and my buddy really liked his chopped brisket sandwich, which was big.

It is almost as good, but much closer:)

It's been about 5 years since I have been to a Will Rogers show. Don't know which one it was but it was a disappointment. Back in the late 70s and up until the mid 80s when I lived in the Fort Worth area, it was far, far better. I bought some really nice stuff there back then.

Those norinco's are over-priced by about $750. I bought one the same day I bought a mint Russian SKS made in 53-with the most beautiful stock id seen one any rifle--I spent a little over $250 total.

I know their are norinco likers here-but mine was a piece of carp.

I remember when SKS's still in cozmoline were stacked head high for $88.00 each at our shows.......BUT....That was pre-slick willy.

My prices were of the time when that person was still in-and the AWB in effect. I THINK at the time-they were trying to keep out ship-loads of chinese made stuff? kinda like FWIH now-with some Russian made stuff.
