I bought this in the early 90s from the son of a retired KCPD Detective Sgt. I have lost my notes after 5 moves with his name. I did verify it thru a friend of a friend back then. the gun shipped to Stoegers in NYC in Feb of 1955. the grip adapter is solid brass with no markings. all matching serial numbers including the grips. great, smooth action and very accurate. the belt buckle and badge were picked up over the years and did not come with the gun. I have probably shot between 900-1,000 rounds thru it over the years. used it to qualify for my CCW permit in TN in 2005. just thought I would share one of my all time favorites. Lee

I have the same, solid brass, unmarked grip adapter that came to me on a 4" 3rd model 44. Like Lee's 4th model above, it makes a very striking appearance. Beautiful rig, Lee.

That brass grip adapter makes a great gun just outstanding. Reminds me of a cutaway of a pair of brass knuckles, worn smooth from contact. Your hand just slides into position with that grip adapter. A great retro gun fighting accessory.
