"Im sorry Mr Silversmok3, but our FFL license expired as of May third.I can send a copy as soon as we have a renewed one on file to send......"

Four days.

Four days of waiting gone up in smoke. Time for me to get assertive.

(sound of dial tone)

"FFL that's holding your purty S&W , howyadoin?"

So, if I send a different FFL info can you mail the piece today?

"Sure" he says. Glad someone in the logistical chain's on the ball.

Sigh. On to phone call #3 to FFL #3.

"Youve Reached FFL#3. Our hours are Tuesday-Friday, 9-6.Closed on Sunday....."

:(

One weekend, an over the phone credit card payment and $35 later.....

Heh. Life's not so bad after all .

As cool as it looks sitting still, they're a lot more fun when shot.

Had I been shooting a Glock , i'd likely be writing this post with my left hand. Fortunately , the steel framed 4006 shrugged off the overcharged Federal round like a bug.

I couldn't believe it. The internals were pristine; no damage to the barrel, frame, or slide. I know it was an overpressure as I felt the magazine compress against the release in the frame when the round ignited. Other clues were my right hand feeling a sharp and brief sting of burning powder + the recoil being just a tad weird.

I'm still amazed, hours later, that this piece just shrugged that kind of event off. Talk about build quality.

So, after inspecting the pistol on the line I loaded another magazine of 11 and did this afterwards:

Those kids playing ninja with polymer guns don't know what they're missing. Perhaps we are all better off for that fact.
