My $65 revolver + Pics.

Here are some shots of my "new" .22 revolver. It is the one I mentioned in this thread:

It was originally $79 but I got him down to $65. I've put 200 .22lrs through and 100 magnum rounds. The only issue so far is sometimes the casings are a little snug coming out. It is actually very accurate, so so far I'm pleased with it for the price. No rusting, relatively clean.

That little gun should last a long time.

Those German guns (which I think it is from the picture) are nearly identical to the first generation Heritage Mfg. guns made down in Miami FL. I even think that parts will interchange with the first model Heritage guns- not the current ones.

I was one of the ones that advised you to save your money. It looks to me, though, that I was wrong. Seems that you'll get more than your money's worth out of it in fun.

If they are identical to the Heritage "Rough Rider", you should get good service from it. A friend of mine had one, he made a bullet trap out of a box stuffed with newspapers laid flat, and would shoot the revolver in his living room with .22 CB shorts. Range, 20 feet or so, but he compensated for the short range by using small targets.

Every time I visited his house, we would have pistol competitions in his living room, neighbors none the wiser....

I was also one of the folks who advised you to put that $ toward a better quailty revolver. I can see that you like it, and if it shoots well, it was worth what you paid for it all day long. Good luck with it.

I use to have one just like it in the late 70's. Put thousands of rounds through it and it was as accurate when I sold it in the 90's as it was the day I bought it. Bought it from Walmart for something like $59. Used it for plinking and frog hunting. Mine too would sometimes have sticky casings, but never a jam or misfire.

Have you given it a good rough cleaning with a bristle brush? There could be a good amount of crud in the chambers.

I actually did give a good cleaning last night.. and they are coming out a bit easier.
