I've been looking for a knife like this for a while (that also wouldn't break the bank). It is a Model 1- 8" All Purpose Fighting Knife in it's original Johnson Rough Back sheath. It has a Stag Finger Grooved Handle and a couple of other options.

It is from the late 1960's to early 1970's (so am I). Very pleased.

This is my only one. It's also circa 1960. It had seen quite a bit of use so I sent it back for a refurb. Since it's already been used for its intended purpose, I hope to use it in the field in the future.

Beautiful knife. Is that a Heiser sheath?

If that's a fighting knife , I would sure hate to get in a knife fight with a guy wielding one of those . On a side note , they were /are? made here in Orlando . Used to be able to walk in and they'd show you around . But even back in the 70's , as far as I can remember , they had a waiting list . My brothers wife wanted to get him one for xmas in the mid-70's and was told there was a 5 year waiting list . A couple of years later he got a call , someone didn't pick up a knife , did he want it . It wasn't what he wanted , but he took it .

Back in about '94 or so, was prowling around a gun show in Topeka, and bought my only Randall. I never carried or even used it, just liked it a lot. Gave it to my son a few years, ago, I have no doubt it will be passed down in time to his son, and on and on. With my only full custom pistol, a 9mm 1911 by Cylinder & Slide, I have maybe 30 K rounds thru it by now. SS Caspian frame with Cerakote. Gold dot front sight.

All the best, and stay safe... SF VET

Very nice knife OP. Nobody does stag as nice as Randall does. Notice how dense the centers are. Almost no pith. No doubt in my mind they use Real Sambar Stag. As opposed to "Stag" meaning any male deer of any species.

I like your Randall, cgt4570. My Father bought me this one in 1960. It's been a great knife. It is semi-retired now.

Some very nice Randalls on here Gentlemen.

I have this on one of my end tables in my parlor. I purchased from a fine gentleman on this forum—he had it factory reconditioned.

I always offer any guests the experience of waving it around like they are in The Sandbar Fight along with Jim Bowie. Rarely does any visitor decline. It is probably my most asked about decoration along with my display of stuffed Timber Rattlers.

Beautiful knives, all. The Randalls I have seen are great looking pieces but seldom used. Does anyone here actually use their Randalls?
