My birthday today.

Yes, Happy Birthday! And I see the popular PGH Steelers' hypocycloid by your name, too! That's special. There are Terrible Towels all over the world, and how many towns besides Boston can answer Yes to "Got six?"
Okay, back to 70 years old: many congrats to you and your family for putting up with you!!! There's only one cure for birthdays and it sounds like you missed the boat a couple times...good to still have you with us on this side of the grass. Are there any 4-legged members of your family? God willing I'll be there in 2 years after this coming March.
Like Golddollar said, a trip to the gun store sounds appropriate for this milestone. Better yet, a few cans of Pearl or Lone Star then get online and pick something out. If what you want is a little too pricey, drink a few more beers. Throw in a couple shots of Wild Turkey; you'll be surprised how well that helps with your online gun purchases! Peace! Jeff T.

Oh, my goodness. please forgive me for not mentioning my beloved Labrador, Sable. A chocolate fur coat of love and devotion. This weekend I plan on finding some Iron City or Rolling Rock and swishing it down with the Turkey. SHHHH - do not tell the misses.
And my Steelers... I have been a fan since Coach Noll days. After a career of doing OPM investigations, if you cut my veins, first red blood would flow and then black & gold. :)

I'm a little over a year behind you and agree with your observations! A man about 20 years our senior taught me that Birthday of any number, the proper gift for yourself would be in Stainless Steel! Think Models that start with a "6", rifles, shotguns, watches and of course a Delorian! Twice on my birthday I have found Browning Superpose shotguns at reasonable prices. They weren't stainless, but I'll repent later! (they handle like a dream come true)

So happy birthday and happy shopping! (BTW, the shopping for my birthday excuse is valid for 30 days on both sides of the event!)

A sweet 16 would be a buy item on my bucket list. I once owned a LC Smith, SxS 16 and swore it was the hand of God guiding my shots. Sadly, I sold it to my eternal regret. But. If I could find a Browning sweet 16...ahhhh

YES! My wife told me to go forth and buy. Gee. I love her.

My S&W EZ380 was a birthday present to myself.
