Whenever I posted my Tommy gun, references where made to “COMBAT!”, the 1960ies television series starring Vic Morrow as Sgt Saunders. I had never seen that series, guess it was not broadcasted in Switzerland (and I wasn’t born when it first aired).

Anyway I thought I’d check it out, and I am now hooked and 28 episodes into season 1 thanks to YouTube.

It also motivated me to find a nice M1 carbine (which I’ve already shown), and they are still quite cheap here in Switzerland.

Today was the perfect day to put my WWII US hardware together for a photo shoot.

The Thompson is a Savage made Auto Ordnance 1928 A1 made in 1941 and a British Lend Lease. It is GEG inspected.

The M1 carbine is an Underwood Elliott Fisher Company made in 1944 and it did not get the end of war or post war upgrades. It’s GHD inspected.

The Colt 1911 A1 was made in 1943 and GHD inspected

The S&W Victory was also made in 1943, is also a British lend lease in .38 S&W and is also GHD inspected

I guess I really need a Garand now (and there’s a nice H&R for sale locally, although it’s a bit pricey).

And a BAR.

The BAR is a lot of fun to shoot, as is the Thompson. Your collection is quite enviable!

I grew up watching COMBAT! (the ! should be a bayonette) and really enjoyed the show.

I was also into the WWII full autos. Never owned a Thompson but did have the M2 carbine, M3 Grease gun (British proofed in 45acp), M50 Reising, and Mk II Sten. My MP40 Schmeiser was deactivated so never got shot. These are all gone now but there are a couple I really miss.

Outstanding collection you have.

Very nice indeed. Thanks for sharing.

"Combat" was my favorite TV show while growing up. I still often hear the introduction song in my mind from time to time.

Beautiful guns. Combat is on TV Saturday nights where I live. And I enjoy watching it.

What is: "still quite cheap here in Switzerland" actually mean if you don't mind saying?

I've read that in the TV show Combat the Thompson was so heavy a wood duplicate was made for Sarge to carry in non-shooting scenes.

Fantastic collection you have. I have been to Switzerland once and loved it. Owning affordable Weapons like yours would be another plus to living there.

True, but everything else would be unaffordable.....the most expensive country in the world to live.

Alomg with _Combat!_, always watched _The Gallant Men_, haven’t heard of that for years.
