My dad's woodcarvings, gun related. Pics added.

I took this picture to show a friend some of my dad's wood carvings. The little chain carved with a scalpel. He carved smaller ones than this. Rifle is a '55 Savage Featherweight in .243, shown here before.
The deer is carved in shallow relief then he painted it. The driftwood chain on the wall has three feet of chain in the middle of it. I really like how he did that one.

My grandfather carved a large chain and a ball in a cage like yours. That small chain is really something.

I love wood carvings and wish I had the talent. Every time I try I end up with a pile of shavings and a toothpick. Here's a good one done by somebody that knows what they're doing.

Here's a couple more. The deer was carved in not too deep relief and then painted. That long piece of driftwood on the wall is interrupted with over three feet of chain carved in it.
