I assume you mean handguns, but either way, yes, I still have the guns. The holsters I had initially have long since been replaced with better quality articles. In my case, the handgun is a Colt .38 Super Commander, purchased in 1969. It was a terrible gun. I finally saved enough money to buy a Barsto barrel for it, which helped greatly, and shot it to death. It cracked its frame, and I sent it to Colt, at their request, for “evaluation.” They decided the gun “could not be repaired,” offered a “discount” on a different gun (no .38 Super Commanders available at that time) that basically amounted to no discount at all, and told me they would not return my gun.

I sent them back a letter offering to pay them for their evaluation and return freight cost for my gun, declining their discount offer. Pretty soon I received another letter saying they would not return my gun and it would be destroyed. I sent them back a more stern letter telling them I wanted my gun back and if they didn’t send it they would be getting a letter from my friendly lawyer. (I’m sure they were scared to death!

) They sent the gun back, along with a bill for around $70!!

I paid their crummy bill and had the Commander professionally repaired elsewhere. Forty-some years later, I still shoot it now and then and it has been trouble free since the repair. That one was/is my first handgun, and I’m pleased to still own it.
Mercifully, I’ve had considerably less trouble with S&Ws.
