My first ICORE match

Another fun day with my 581. Came in 3d in my division (classic) against some pretty stiff competition. While still small, our attendance almost doubled this Sat. I attribute this to the weather and not my MD skills :-). Still is nice to see more folks come and shoot revos.

Several of us recently became ICORE certified ROs and we’ll have participation at the Rocky MTN regional this year in CO. Looking forward to it!

Had another match today. Used my 21-4 which served me well. Came in 2nd in classic division. Probably could have used it in Big Six, but hadn’t chrono’d these loads yet, so decided to remain in classic.

A fun day, with some seated stages, movement and stationary shooting positions. Had 6 stages, one I tanked due to pushing myself and having a brain fart, but the gun performed as it should.

We’ll be having a BUG or snubby only match as well as a heavy steel match soon.

Shot my first ICORE last month and my second match is Saturday. I really enjoy it! I've shot USPSA and Steel Challenge previously and ICORE is great. Great motivator to keep pushing myself.

This club is running all the classifiers this year which is fun though I'm not a member so won't get classed. I'm not chasing a classification though so it doesn't matter much to me. Great time regardless!

Today’s heavy metal match went well, with only one prop failure ( activator cord came loose). All enjoyed themselves , which is what it’s all about.

My 581 worked perfectly, delivering rds where I aimed. My challenge was my reloads had some difficulty with a couple of recalcitrant poppers;). My fault in not using my other reloads, but wanted to finish this batch off.

All in all a good day, weather was spectacular, shooting was good, friendship was enjoyable.

Next match early in June is a SNUBBY focused match. I’ll use my Ruger GP 100 WC II for that match.

A heavy metal match would be a blast! I don't know if the club has enough steel to do one but i think i'll ask about the idea. We had great weather as well. I placed third behind the GM who ran two guns for 1st and 2nd. Small turnout match though with only 5 total shooters haha

Actually, it was many steel poppers. See my post #24.

ICORE has recently established a new division called Big 6, similar to major power factor, 40 cal or greater, 6 shot with 155 PF.

Today we had our annual snubby match, 7 stages to challenge us with short sighting radius ;)

As I don’t have a short barreled S&W, I used my 3” WC GP100. Came in third in my division. Fun day despite the heat.

Next match, I’m back to my 581.

In a yet to be scheduled match, we’ll have a revolver and semi auto match where we shoot the stages with revolver first then repeat with semi automatics. Only restriction is if one uses a revolver in 40 caliber or greater, one must use a semiautomatic with a bore 40 or greater.

Today we had our ICORE match. A cold, wet and windy day for summer. Despite that, came in 3d using my 581.

Today’s stages were taken from the ‘24 postal match with a higherround count than we normally have. All enjoyed themselves, which is what it’s all about.

We also had a good turnout, despite the weather. Am gratified to see some growth in our attendance. Still small by any measure, but with the core group and some new faces we aren’t going away.

Next match is in 2 weeks.

Had our ICORE match today with my 581. Did well on the first 3 stages, but tanked the 4th and 6th stages:mad:. Still was a fun day, with cooler weather than expected.

The first 3 stages were similar to USPSA/ IDPA in design, the last 3 were for the most part stand and shoot, some at a long range. On the stages I tanked, I had some ammo issues and I simply screwed up shooting extra shots on a limited stage:(

Next match for me is the first Sat of Aug.

Hope all had a great 4th!
