I bought this from a guy who was the original owner, and I just couldn't pass it up after seeing the flawless condition and the price.
It's a S&W Model 29-5 Classic Hunter. Full underlug and unflutted cylinder. It came with the original cardboard box, paper work, receipt, and the S&W cleaning kit still in its packaging. The only thing that was not original was the grip. I tried to take a picture that would highlight the bluing, but the picture does not do it justice. Thanks to those of you who answered my questions as I was on my quest to purchase my first 44 magnum. I know it's not as nice as some of the masterpieces I've seen here, but it's mine :D

Thanks everyone.

And THAT my friend is the whole deal in a nutshell. I'd rather have ONE GUN of my own, than a PICTURE of all the guns shown on the internet. ;)
f.t.

I couldn't agree more. Thank you.

That gun looks mint.
Not mark on it, your gonna have a ball with it!

It's blue, no lock, full endurance package , and real handsome wood.it is your masterpiece enjoy

Beautiful gun. And if you decide later on that you want nicer grips, I'm sure all the enablers here would help you in that department.

Looks like the blued brother to my 629. I have the same grips, just in Silver/Black.

RO73,

Since you have the box can you post a picture of the end label? This particular M29-5 is a real interesting and unique variation. Thanks!

Based on the label your M29-5 was boxed March 25, 1992. Funny thing is I'd seen your M29 somewhere before and had the s/n in my collection (less the last digit), but none of the details, so thanks again.

I have two other 101282 in my s/n collection. Both -5 BFW's that shipped in January of 1991. The were both square butts and the original grips were Hogue neoprene.

Great! I appreciate the info as well.
