I just found this forum yesterday and someone suggested I post in this area. I'm sort of wondering about the value of a couple of pistols that belonged to my grandfathers (one to each of them).

One is a serial number 7xxx...and the other one is a serial number 73xxx. I'm told that the lower serial numbered one was probably manufactured in 1947 and the higher on in 1949 or 1950. The blueing is worn off in places on both of them, but they both shoot. Any ideas what they might be worth...or what determines the value of those manufactured back then?

Welcome to the forum!
K-22's are hot sellers (as anything can be in this economy) and without pictures, guns like you have probably would be around $400 apiece.

Because they belonged to your grandfathers they are priceless.

williards, welcome to the forum! Is there a K in front of the serial number? If you could post some clear photos that would also help to determine value.

Pretty much has to be as the pre-war K-22's started at serial # 632,132. Serials started over at K1 with the post-war K-22 (sometimes known as the 3rd Model).
