The other day I was in my den and the wife came in and asked "Did you hear that?" I said "No, didn't hear a thing." Of course with my hearing that doesn't mean much :D.

So she proceeded to walk around the house and found a bracket for the clothes bar in her closet broke and the bar and her dresses fell to the floor. I, of course, as a dutiful husband, went out to my toolbox to get a new bracket to reinstall the clothes bar.

Although my wife is very supportive of my hobby and even encourages me to buy new guns, books, etc. if I really want it, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself about how maybe she has too many dresses. After all, I've never had a gun rack fall off the wall!

Had a shelf in the closet break. That cost me $800 bucks. Went with one of those California closet things.

When all 3 of my sons were very young, I bought them each a 22 rifle. Society had change so much since I was a kid growing a mile down the road from where my boys grew up, That I mounted a 3 gun rack to the wall in their room with several 3" drywall screws. I used rubber coated steel cable to make a loop through the trigger guards so the guns could be padlocked to the gun rack.

Fast forward 10 years, the oldest is a senior and has early enlisted in the Army. To build up his upper body strength he did lots of chin-ups. One day as I walk past the boys room I see him doing backward pull-ups using the rifle rack, on his chest is an old field pack of mine with 50 pounds of rocks in it! I guess I put the gun rack up pretty well!
