Was doing a show this past weekend. Friday during set up I talked with an older collector who said he brought in a 29-1, for a customer that he has been talking with for quite awhile. I asked to see it and said I would have interest if the other party didn't want it. All day Saturday I watched and he never took it out to show anyone, late in he day I asked about it, he said the gentlemen was supposed to come Sunday. Well around 11 am sunday i see this older gent sitting at his table talking. Neither person looks happy, about an hour later I get word the gun is available. I go over and sit down to look at it closer, it has wear on the muzzle, piece of red insert worn off, typical cylinder ring and some dings in the coke bottle grips but the gun is honest and comes with the clam shell presentation case. yep its a 29-1 8 3/8" serial nuber S22888X. He is firm on the pric, I do a little soul searchig and bite the bullet... its mine!

I have pictures but can't figure out how to post them, If someone would be so kind to do it for me I would be happy to email them. I did a search and see there are less than 30 documneted 29-1s, wow

I will have to follow up with Chuck and report the serial number, This gun does not have the "L" stamped on the rear face of cylinder nor does it have the extractor rod cut, it is a 3 screw.

The coke bottle grips are rather dark, could they be rosewood? Thanks for looking Hope some one will offer to post the pictures.

Wow, what a GREAT find.

I hope you can afford food, for the rest of the year....

Beautiful gun, glad you were able to cross that off your list!

Hello again. I need some help on pricing. I am going to try and post pics here as well so you will know the condition of the box and grips. I have had the M29 Presentation box for close to 30 years as well as the 29 grips. I sold the gun mid 80s w/o the box and grips. Can anyone tell me what they might be worth and is anyone interested in them? Thanks for your help. Now if I can figure out how to post pics. Anyone interested in pics please e-mail me at wildmareranch@yahoo.
Thanks

Conratulations as that's one beautiful find and I'm green with envy like the rest of the folks up here..

I don't know why I torture myself by browsing through these cyber pages seeing all these unbelievable, awesome guns... that I don't own. It's all about me;)
That is an amazing find. There have really been some fantastic Model 29's picked up by forum members the last 2 months.. This might be the envy of them all!!

Rom, nice acquisition and probably one you will want to hang on to for a long time. They are only going up in value. Thanks for the serial number and that makes 29 that I have record of.:)

Gotta love the 8 3/8 barrelled N frames..Great Find..Musta been a Looonnggg day Sat waiting ;-)

Wow; maybe I should put that on my grail list. I thought I was being realistic leaving it off my list. Probably couldn't afford the divorce if I bought one, but maybe she'd understand.

All kidding aside: congratulations on a beautiful, rare, and highly sought after work of art. Thank you for sharing it.

my grail gun

I want to thank everyone for there great comments, after talking with Chuck I feel I got a deal as I paid on the lower side of the value chart. Although its really hard to say what someone else may have paid for this gun. Thanks again, now that I know how to post pictures I should do a few more posts of my small collection.
